It was warm already

Nick and Kate had a housewarming party last weekend, so that all their friends could see our awesome new house. For the record, nobody asked if it was alright with me to have a million people come and invade my personal space for a whole afternoon/evening. But Kate must have felt a little guilty, because she gave me the task of putting together an invitation for the party. I think I did a pretty good job of making it as appealing an event as I could:
Despite my attempts to keep people away from the party, they actually came. Can you believe that they thought that the invitation was a joke? So I spent the day in self-imposed exile on Uncle Simon's sleeping bag in the guest room:

Sleeping bags are the COMFORTABLEST BEDS EVER! Big shout out to Uncle Simon for making it available to me (feel free to leave it at our place when you move into your new apartment...).

Happily, a few people took the 'presents for Pablo' portion of the invitation seriously:

Here's the loot I scored from the party: an awesome new bowl from my friend Kath, a Hobart Cat Centre card and a bag of crunchy treats from my friend Possum (who used to blog, but is now helping her mum and dad get ready for the arrival of their baby boy!), and a can of chickeny, stinky goodness from my friends Penny, Martin and Hannah!

Hey Kath, it works!

So even though a thousand million people ignored my wishes and came to the housewarming party, the fact that I got a few cool presents out of it, and got to snuggle on Uncle Simon's sleeping bag, meant that it wasn't such a bad party after all. And housewarming parties only happen once, right?

Kate, I thought I made you promise not to post this photo?!

Cheers,
--Pabs

I really like your invitation. I should take note and do a similar one whenever SS decides to have a party. Unfortunately many of her parties are spontaneous and happen without any invitation. Perhaps I should leave one permanently stuck on the front door or send one out regularly to her friends. At least you got some presents. Her friends just ignore me and take over the place, including MY garden lounge. The cheek!

I can't believe you actually enjoyed the party after my best attempts to molest you!

What a great invitation. I'm surprised anyone showed up.

But if you had to tolerate your space being invaded, at least you got some presents. Is it polite to post a picture of a guy when he's chowing down?

Hahahahaha! Is that really the invitation you sent out? That is too funny. Pablo, you are a character. But I think it was worth having all those people over because you got some great loot!

Mum has never had a big party like that. Just a few people over at a time. Then I get to stay out and meet people.

At least you scored a few pressies.

This is the time of year where all kinds of strangers wander into the house. Makes me want to just hide. Looks like ya have a nice beautiful home though and ya got nice new eating tools.

*GIGGLE*! I love your party invitation, Pablo! That's a hoot. My Momma laughed out loud! I'm glad you got some presents out of the deal, though!

I'm actually much more sociable than my mom. She's not a party animal at all. I, however, LOVE to be around people, the more the merrier! *smile*. I think sometimes I'm the human, and she's the cat! *wink*

Purrs and snuggles from Marilyn.

Backyard Cricket? I think I would like to try that! We get crickets in our backyard sometimes. They are tasty!

Please tell your beans that that was the very best invitation that my Mommy has ever seen. She laughed out loud!
I hope the prezzies and the sleeping bag more than made up for the cast of thousands at your housewarming!

Pabs mate, I don't get it, how could they not understand your invitation? You made it really clear and they still came! Humans are sure dumb! On the other hand the presents were cool. FAZ

p.s. I am ignoring the last photo, I plan to think of you in one of your more handsome mancat poses.

hey Pabs me old mucker, I didn't realise we had so much in common

1. we're both very intelligent cats (even though I am a girl and you're a boy)
2. my girl human is Australian, so is yours.
3. my boy human is a graphic designer too (he's a creative director in an advertising agency here in London).
4. we both like football although you tend to follow Aussie Rules and I tend to follow English soccer. Cahill is my favourite Everton player and he's Australian!
No wonder we are both so cool.

Your letter was very scary, Pablo. Those people were very brave to show up. You've got to respect them for that at least...

I really like your picture on the sleeping bag. I need to have Tracy buy me one of those.

WOW Pablo! I really like that letter that you wrote. It has a bomb *kabloom!* and a skull and cool stuff. I also like your special food dish.
