Pablo is home!

Message from Kate: After a day of good #1 output, Pablo was allowed to come home this afternoon... a day sooner than the v-e-t thought! I've tried to maintain Pabsy's dignity in these photos of him resting by the heater (not too much of a view of his shaved bits). Check out his purple smiley face bandage on his front leg. Very un-Pabs.

He has to be closely monitored for a few days to make sure he doesn't have another blockage, he's now on a special urinary diet and we have to help him lose a kilo, encourage him to drink more water and exercise more. This is going to be tough... it's hard to make Pablo do anything he doesn't want to do. But we'll try!

It's great to have him home. Thanks, everycat, for your good wishes and support!

Cheers,
--Kate :)

Pabs we are so happy to see you home! Welcome back, dude! We're sending lots of purrs for you to get back to full strength quickly and for your furs to re-grow thick and shiny :)

Crikey Pablo! Sorry we didn't know you had been poorly. We all hope you are ok now and don't get blocked again. I'm a serial mucosal blocker too.(if I see introooder cats or stuff like that, I get upset and block up) Our vets make me eat some of a special diet designed to make cats drink more which stops the mucous getting thick. Blocking up sucks big time.

Get well soon Pablo!

I am so glad to see Pablo back at home! I had bladder stones a few years ago, and my current vet says the best thing for urinary health is to eat a wet food diet and no dry foods.

Yay...welcome home from the hospital, Pablo. Brighton says he knows all about shaved 'bits' too! We hope you continue to recuperate and you can stay 'free flowing' from here on out!

Hurrah for Pablo!
I have to agree with Daisy's comment...my Grayce HAD bladder problems until she went to an all wet food diet; and she slimmed down to her proper weight with no effort at all. I did a lot of research into the "prescription" diets, et al...and I found out dry food is just plain bad. Just an idea...

We hope that you'll like the new diet and you can get your new routine on track really quickly!!! What do you have to eat from now? We have a woofie brother who switched to a prescription Science Diet U/D after having the operation for blocked urinary tract, and he's never had a recurrence of the blockage.
Purrrrs to you, Keiko, Kenji, Pricilla & Yuji

Pabs, I am glad to hear that the unblocking of the tabby mancat equipment went well, and you are back home with the family.

Hmmmm diet and exercise sounds like our plans for the summer too.

Smooches to you tabbycat.
